Firstly, there are no specialty or unique tools required for precision maintenance. All the required tools are commonly available and relatively inexpensive. Acquiring a good set tools demonstrates the importance of precision maintenance and sends a clear message that we are serious about this work.
There are 3 categories of tools needed, performance measuring tools, precision measurement tools and general assembly tools.
Machine performance measuring tools are vital to the process as they are used to measure immediate improvement these include overall vibration meter, Strobe light and temperature measurement. Precision Measurement includes Micrometers, dial indicators, precision levels , feeler gauges etc. The most important Assembly tool is a torque wrench.
